Infants Look Great in Headbands – if Worn Right!
Headbands for babies are a great accessory for your little girl, either to dress up a look or add a lil’ unique Baby Wisp® touch of modern style into her wardrobe.
As a classic head topper, wearing the infant headband in the correct way ensures your little baby drooler doesn’t remove, become uncomfortable or even notice she’s wearing one! The placement also creates the perfect "look", a bow as an accessory - not the star of her wardrobe show.
Of course, it should be emphasized that toddlers (especially children under 3 years of age) should not be left unattended with headbands, or any hair accessory, and should always be under the supervision of a parent or adult while wearing one.
Having that in mind, if coordinated and worn properly, infant headbands do serve as a modern accessory that adds the right amount of ‘chic’ and ‘pop’ to any little girl’s outfit. What a unique baby shower gift to if you're buying baby girl gifts and you handle the matching accessory too!
Placement of bow
First things first – choosing the right head-band accessory for your chic and little fashionista is imperative. Style, comfort, and color are important; but alignment and placement of the headband can make or break your baby’s look. For example, look the best when the bow is worn slightly to the side of the head (can be left of right depending on where her bald spot is, if any). ,The band itself will of course be behind the ear.
If your munchkin was lucky enough to be born with a head full of hair, styling her hair around the sides of her face will not only frame her face, but also not over emphasize that she is wearing a distinct hair accessory. We are not generally a big fan of placing the embellishment on the top of the head except the birthday bows look great on top of the head! It's her
birthday afterall. Let everyone see and know it!
unless it's halloween and your lil girl is a cupcake and you're using the headband as the cupcake topper! ;)
Softness and Stretchiness of Elastic Nylon Skinnies
As each baby head varies in size, we cut the nylon at 2 different lengths. One for newborns (soon to be discontinuing) and one for 3-12 months. Each stretches with use and firstly before use -it is definitely snug (purposely so smaller baby heads can wear it). Picture your nylon tights you wear with dresses. You wear them straight out of the package and it fits snug, then when you take them off you can see the nylon has stretched and is looser the next time you wear it.
I kindly suggest "stretching" out the elastic prior to wear. That is, put the elastic between your two hands and pull apart as if you are about to put on her head that is 3 X bigger than her actual head. In this way, the elastic becomes "less tight" . Repeat until you get the proper tension. Not too loose that it flops down but not so tight that it is leaving compression marks. Give it a try and let us know. Hope this helps. It shouldn't be leaving marks.
